I was born in Kansas City, Kansas, at K.U. Medical Center to my "Proud Parents"Mr. & Mrs. Denver Harold Ross Sr. They had to have a police escort when my Mother was in labour (with me)just before I was born. She said they did not have enough time to do the necessary things they normally do, before a baby is about to be born. I was ready to come into the world The escort traveled from 25th St. & Brooklyn Ave. to 39th Street, on over to the Kansas side where I was born the fourth child of seven. She & my father use to Love to tell the story to me while I was growing up. In fact the last time I talked to my father, he shared this story with me. We had a real good laugh together. My given name at birth was JaNet, but my Chosen (Legal) name is Ja'MeeLah, which means Pretty or Beautiful! As are the words that I Love to use to create the Positive Poetry that I 've been Blessed to write ! Many Gifted & Talented people have Changed their names, from Queen Latifah to Tina Turner & Maya Angelo just to name a few. And it never ceases to Amaze me of how successful they have all become. I am the middle child of seven siblings. I have two older sisters and two younger sisters. With one younger brother and one older brtoher. Often times I would play with my younger brother while growing up. Because my older sisters did not want to be bothered much with me, due to the age differences. And with me being 6 & 8 years older than my two younger sisters, I had been there and done that. Never the less I spent a lot of time with my younger sisters, we had lot's of fun. But I had to find my own place with all of my Challenges; and I did by writing and singing. Writing brings Comfort & Contentment. And from my many years of writing, I've now become an Entrepreneur. I have writen for many different Occasions, since I've started all of this. From Weddings to Funerals & Special Events. Such as The National Black Arts Festival when it was down on Auburn Ave. in the ATL. Where I recited my popular Atlanta, Georgia and Remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.poems. I was invited by Singer Liz Spraggins to recite at Ambassador Andrew Young's Church. And I was called on to be one of the Judges a Poetry Contest held for High School Students by Mrs.Jondell Johnson the Former Executive Director for the N.A.A.C.P.(Atlanta Chapter) And after the death of the Soulful Singer Johnnie (Harrison} Taylor I wrote a poem with a Special Request of my Oldest Sister. While arriving early to attend his funeral, in June of 2000. I was extended an invitation from Community Activist Mr. Alvin Brooks, to recite the poem about him on Radio Station (K.P.R.T. A.M) in my hometown of Kansas City, Mo/Ks. I've Received Awards in Honor of some of my Poetry. I've even recited Poetry at the bed side of someone ill, as well as at Gatherings Where Everyone was Happy. Whatever the Occasion is, I know that it's a Good Thing to Always Share with Others Ultimate Optimism Expressions. It's like Sweet Honey for the Soul ! And I Hope that You Will Agree. I am also Blessed to have one Son Adrian, and a Daughter-In-Love, Diana. Two Grandchildren, Ariana & Adonis. I am Most Grateful to Almighty God for Surviving Breast Cancer, now Seventeen Years, since July 23, 1992. God Has Granted me Special Gifts be able to Motivate & Inspire People by just Being Myself. And with my Gifts From God, they're All used by Writing = Author, Songwriter, = Singer, Making People Laugh = Comedian, Words to Uplift = Inspirational Speaker & Wanting for Others as I Want For Myself = Consulting & Complimenting, Sharing & Informing = Radio Talk Show Personality! Decorative & Design Creativity = Interior Decorator. So Often I Give Thanks to GOD, for All that He has Granted. I've Found Something Good That I Like To Do, How About You? Oh, How About You? Time is passing us by. Let's make the Best of the time that we have left. Because It's My Time, It's Your Time, It's Our Time, It's Time For Change!
